How to Brew: The AeroPress (Traditional)

Method:

Experience the traditional brewing method using the AeroPress on our channel. Follow these simple steps to create a delightful cup of coffee:

  1. Begin by heating at least 225g of filtered water to 89C. If you don't have a thermometer, boiling water will also suffice.
  2. Weigh out 15g of whole bean coffee, providing a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio.
  3. Grind the coffee using a medium-coarse setting, around 18 clicks on the Comandante grinder.
  4. Rinse the AeroPress paper filter with hot water. Optionally, preheat and rinse the AeroPress chamber as well.
  5. Attach the AeroPress lid securely and position the AeroPress upright on your carafe.
  6. Add the ground coffee into the AeroPress.
  7. Start your timer and pour 50g of water onto the coffee bed within 40 seconds.
  8. Pour the remaining 175g of water within 20 seconds.
  9. Gently stir the coffee slurry six times for 20 seconds.
  10. Insert the plunger and let the coffee steep for an additional 20 seconds. Then, slowly press the plunger down for 20 seconds, stopping just before you hear the hissing sound.
  11. Enjoy your freshly brewed coffee immediately or transfer it to another cup. Savor the moment!
