Competition Rules and Regulations
- All official competitors must pay a non-refundable registration fee of AED 150.
- Competitors must be at least 18 years old.
- Employees and ex-employees of Refill who of less than a year ago are not eligible to participate.
- Cupping spoons, water, and spit cups will be provided to all competitors.
- Competitors cannot be replaced if absent; Refill reserves the right to select a replacement at its own discretion.
- If the required number of competitors is not met, visitors may register to compete. Selected competitors must pay the registration fee of AED 150.
- Official competitors will receive a welcome message via AI, Instagram, and EDM.
- Each round will consist of four competitors.
- The top 16 competitors will advance to the next round.
- Competitors will be allotted a maximum of 5 minutes per round.
- Five triangular sets will be presented, and competitors must push the selected odd cup forward.
- Once a cup is selected, it is final. Changing the selected cup will result in automatic disqualification.
- Brewing temperatures and coffee beans will be determined by the organizers.
- When 4 minutes have elapsed, the timekeeper will notify the competitor.
- Competitors must raise their hand and say “Time” when they complete the task.
- Scores will reset for each round, including the semi-finals and finals.
- Competitors must be present at the awards ceremony. Representatives are not allowed.
- As this is a community event, we encourage everyone to cheer, support competitors, and promote camaraderie.
